Scan to BIM Project

We at IDSS Global have been providing exceptional services of ‘Scan to BIM’ to our clients. Till now we have offered various kind of services to our clients like Scan to BIM, CAD/Image to BIM, Scan to CAD 2D, Scan to CAD 3D modelling. As input we receive Point cloud file (rcp/rcs or e5, las formats).

Once the point cloud data is analysed by our team, the extracted information is used to create a Building Information Model (BIM). This is done by creating 3D objects representing the existing elements and assigning them the extracted information. The model is then used to accurately measure existing elements, as well as providing a platform for further design development.

The procedure of Scan To BIM generally involves four steps:

1. Data acquisition: Laser scanning is used to capture detailed 3D data of the existing built environment. It is done using a laser scanner on a tripod to capture the point cloud data of an area. Depending on the scale of the project, stationary or mobile laser scanning can be used.
2. Data processing: The point cloud data is processed to remove noise, redundancies and other unnecessary information. Also, the data is organized and prepared for further analysis.
3. Data analysis: The point cloud data is analysed to extract the required information from it. This includes extracting measurements, shapes and other relevant data from the point cloud data.
4. Modelling: The extracted information is used to create a Building Information Model. This is done by creating 3D objects representing the existing elements and assigning them the extracted information. The model is then used to accurately measure existing elements, as well as providing a platform for further design development.
